Awards

We are very pleased and honored that the New South Wales Sporting Injury Committee, which is based in Sydney, Australia and is linked with the Sydney Olympic Organizing Committee, has chosen the Institute to be one of the home bases for the winner of the F.E. Johnson Memorial Fellowship. Dr. Andrew McIntosh is a leader in Australia and on a worldwide basis on head injuries. He was chosen to continue his fine work on head impact injuries with the Institute. Dr. McIntosh joined us in June of this year and we look forward to his impact upon our efforts in our laboratory looking at head impact issues in sport. In addition, Dr. Janda was chosen to be the keynote speaker at the Injury Prevention Conference hosted by the New South Wales government in Sydney, Australia in November of 2001. It is once again an honor for the Institute, as well as, Dr. Janda to be chosen now a third time to be a keynote speaker at such a prestigious event.
